The first original curiously strong mints date all the way back to 1780, when they were created by the London-based company Smith & Company - their charter was signed by King George III! In the nineteenth century, Smith & Company was purchased by Callard & Bowser, Inc., and in the twentieth century Callard & Bowser was acquired by the American firm Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. But, through it all, Altoids have survived, a never-ending tradition of excellence!

OK, I must admit that I have long been a fan of the original "Curiously Strong Peppermints." But, I must say that they have made a good product even better. Unlike the original mints, these little mints are 100 sugar-free, but they still have that great, curiously strong taste. They come 50 to a small box that fits neatly into your pocket or purse, and can be whipped out for a quick breath sweetening. As a matter of fact, I keep a tin of these on my desk at work for that very purpose!

So, if you want a really good breath mint, then I recommend that you get a tin of Altoids Smalls Peppermint. I think that they are great!

I love these for so many reasons...

Of course, they're awesome for fresh breath AND they're sugar free.

They also, at least to me, make an amazing cough suppressant when I'm having an allergy attack (dust, pollen...). Way better (and faster) than popping an antihistamine. I also tend to get a bit queasy on the winding roads in our area. Popping a few of these somehow alleviate that feeling. Oddly, the large sugary Altoids don't seem to pack enough punch to accomplish either of these. There's just something about the little ones.

The smaller size of the mints and their tins are also much easier to carry along than original Altoids. They take up very little room in my purse and nightstand. I'll wait on a box of these from Amazon before I'd buy a few tins of the original Altoids now!

Love these!! The perfect size mint, in the awesome Altoids Tin. I use these for dry mouth. And since their sugar free, no calories to worry about. A+
